Frequently Asked Questions
What Is Inner Healing and Deliverance?
To explain it simply, inner healing means healing of your soul (mind and heart). I think of myself like a physiotherapist helping heal someone's knee so they can walk properly! I want to help you heal in your soul and spirit so you can walk out your identity and callings more fully. We've all heard the saying, "hurt people hurt people," so let's be healthy, whole individuals who can bless others instead of hurting others.
There are over 100 verses in the Bible that reminds us that God's in the business of healing broken hearts. One of my favourites is "He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds." Psalms 147:3 (NIV)
Deliverance, on the other hand, deals with the demonic spirits we've allowed in our lives. No that doesn't mean we're demon possessed! I'm gonna simplify this sometimes complicated topic. John 10:10 tells us that Satan's job is to steal, kill and destroy our lives (identity, destiny, purpose, health, etc.) and he does this internally and/or externally. Internally meaning he hurts our lives through internal issues like generational sins/curses in your family (Ex 34:6-7, Jn 9:2-3), our own sins (Ro 6:23) or unhealed hurtful experiences of our past (Ps 147:3). Kinda like the saying, "hurt people hurt people." If we haven't dealt with the hurt and pain properly and thoroughly, those wounds from life's battles can wreak havoc in our relationships or other areas of life.
Externally is when Satan attacks for no other reason than he's out to destroy your identity, finances, relationships, whatever! It's called a spiritual or demonic attack and I know I've had a hard time knowing when it's happening! Many times I've had Christian friends help discern what's going on to take authority over it.
Going a little further for those who are interested, as far unhealed hurtful experiences, Satan loves to take advantage of those experiences (heck, he's usually behind the experience itself!) by sneaking lies into our hearts which evil spirits are attached to. For example, if someone is repeatedly bullied at school, a lie they start to believe is "I'm a loser," "my life is worthless" or "I'm stupid." Opening their heart to such lies is an invitation to such evil spirits like rejection, self hatred, unworthiness, etc.
Without even knowing it, we can give demonic spirits influence in our thoughts and actions (2 Corinthians 10:3-5). We let in whatever thoughts fly through our minds, not realizing we're either giving power to life or destruction. This is what Ephesians 4:27 talks about when it says, "don't give the enemy a foothold." It's the little ways that we give into the enemy's traps that end up causing suffering in little or big ways.
I give some real, raw and honest examples of how inner healing and deliverance saved my life in my blog --> "Breaking Free: My Journey with Inner Healing & Deliverance."
Isaiah 53 and Isaiah 61 are the answers to the brokenness in our world, which is Jesus. These parts of the Holy scripts remind me of His role in our lives. He's truly the answer and the Bible is full of keys on how God wants to protect us from suffering and how He can heal us.
Just wanna end by clarifying that inner healing and deliverance is applied to someone's life through prayer ministry because we minister the healing power of God through prayer. When someone is looking for prayer ministry in a different city from me, I usually scout out churches in their area and check their websites, looking under their "ministries" tab and see if biblical counselling or prayer ministry is in their list of ministries.
How Are Counselling and Prayer Ministry Different?
Counselling/therapy helps us understand why we are struggling in certain areas and uses various therapeutic techniques to address these areas of concern. They provide tools for coping, emotional healing and personal growth.
Inner healing and deliverance brings healing to your soul and spirit on a deep, transformative level because God's Presence is your Healer. Counselling tools can sometimes provide self-centered approaches to healing whereas inner healing and deliverance takes a Christ-centred, Biblical and spirit-led approach that helps a person get to the roots of what is causing the areas of concern. We are healed from the inside out, even physical ailments are often healed because issues of the soul are healed (3 Jn 1:2).
For many people I've helped, they've noticed this difference: counselling helped them figure out why they were struggling, but wasn't able to help them get fully healed. Or they were misdiagnosed and thus didn't get the right treatment. So, they sought out prayer ministry (inner healing) where they not only got healing and freedom but got the tools needed to stay free.

How Many Sessions Will I Need?
The amount of sessions needed will be dependent on the depth of healing needed, the availability of our schedules, your emotional capacity and honestly, your willingness and pursuit of healing (see question 'How Can I Prepare for My Session?'). Some have just needed one three-hour session, others have needed a couple two hour sessions, it really varies upon the above factors. After the initial assessment, I'll be able to gauge how many sessions you'll need.
How Much Does This Cost?
The first session will be a complimentary assessment session. After that, I offer a sliding scale fee depending on your income:
Employed: $45/hr
Unemployed/Student: donation based
I am passionate about helping leaders in ministry walk in wholeness, so if you meet this criteria, I am offering you a 20% discount of $36/hr.
Do I Need to be a Christian?
It's only through Jesus Christ that we are fully healed and set free, Acts 4:12 says, "Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to men by which we must be saved." Worldly solutions can only help so far. God heals and transforms on a cellular level, as 1 Thessalonians 5:23 (NCV) promises us, "Now may God himself, the God of peace, make you pure, belonging only to him. May your whole self—spirit, soul, and body—be kept safe and without fault when our Lord Jesus Christ comes."
I have watched the power of the Holy Spirit heal the trauma and pain imprinted on people's souls, commanded the demons that were tormenting and causing affliction to leave. Then I've watched as God fills them with the gift of freedom, joy and peace...no medication did that, no ancient Eastern healing techniques did that...it was purely the blood of Jesus applied. It would be a grave error on my part if I ministered to someone who wasn't willing to partner with Jesus for their healing and continued freedom - Matthew 12:43-45 warns us of this:
43 “When an impure spirit comes out of a person, it goes through arid places seeking rest and does not find it. 44 Then it says, ‘I will return to the house I left.’ When it arrives, it finds the house unoccupied, swept clean and put in order. 45 Then it goes and takes with it seven other spirits more wicked than itself, and they go in and live there. And the final condition of that person is worse than the first. That is how it will be with this wicked generation.”
Do You Minister to Men?
Yes I minister to men if they are under the age of 30. If they are older, my husband will join the session and that will depend on his availability.
Why Does God Care About Your Healing?
So you can have abundant life in Him (John 10:10), which according to their root meaning, means superior quality of life!
God is merciful, overflowing in love and compassion towards you. He knows every detail of hurt and injustice that has been done to you. (Ps 103:2-4, Matthew 14:14, Acts 10:38)
It's part of your sanctifying process in becoming more like Jesus (2 Cor. 3:18, 2 Cor. 4:11, 1 John 3:10) - brokenness and sin hinders the life of Christ from being manifested in our lives.
Jesus died on the cross to exchange your suffering and death for His life, so that His life can be manifested in yours (Isaiah 53:4-6)
God said to me one time, "many of my people are quietly suffering and it breaks my heart." He sent His Son Jesus to set captives free but there are many reasons as to why this quiet suffering is happening and you can click here to check out my thoughts on this.
How Can I Prepare for Ministry?
Preparing your heart is a great way to prep yourself for receiving. Spend time in God's presence through worship and prayer
Read the Bible and remind yourself of who He is (Psalms is a great book of the Bible for this). If God has spoken any promises to you, this would be a great time to remind yourself of them, basically anchor yourself in truth of who He is and who you are
Ask a family member and/or trusted friend to be praying for your session, that you are well covered as you receive ministry. I'll be taking notes of your session so all you need to bring is a drink and snack if you'd like!

How Do I Know if I Need This Type of Help?
Honestly, if you've reached this far on my website, that's kinda an indicator you need this kind of help, that you're looking for lasting solutions.
I know I've needed to reach out for help when I've noticed a negative pattern in life and I've tried everything in my own power to fix it. Maybe it's a character flaw that always comes up and is ruining your performance at work, or maybe you've noticed friends keep leaving your life, or your finances are constantly getting beat up and you can never get ahead in that area.
Another good indicator is if something small (something said or done to you) causes a huge emotional reaction in your heart. This is when the term "trigger" is used, when our heart hasn't fully healed from a past hurt and an experience brings up that deep pain.
Lastly, sometimes I take inventory of areas of my life and self-assess whether I'm experiencing freedom and growth in those areas; friendships, relationship with Jon and the kids, finances, spiritual journey, physical health, etc. Is there fresh hurt and pain in my heart, or lack of thriving and growth in these areas? Sometimes I don't have to go hunting, I feel a conviction that something isn't right and that's enough for me to seek out help from God.
